Great Escape to Poro Point

It was an Independence Day weekend for the books.  El familia went to avail my prize for a stay in Thunderbird La Union.  Originally a 3 day/ 2 night gift certificate, I converted it into an overnight stay for 2 rooms so that my 2 sisters and aunt can join us in this trip.

We left Manila Sunday morning, not too early though as check-in time was at 2PM.  Good thing the controversial Pacman-Bradley fight was on, the roads were practically deserted!  Leisurely drive for hubby šŸ™‚

We stopped for lunch in Luisita (again) so Lian can stretch her legs (at talagang sya ang dapat mag-stretch noh). She knew where to go – Jollibee playground (kahit di kami dun nag-lunch)

We got to the hotel past 3PM and it was raining (bummer!).  Good thing the rooms were lovely and the view was exquisite.

As soon as the rains stopped, we headed to the poolside and the boardwalk to check out the waves.  No surprise that the waves were pang-surf.

Of course, Lian couldn’t pass up the chance to explore the resort’s playground

For dinner, we went to Vegas Cafe – the resto beside the casino.  Food was a bit pricey but superb!  I totally dig their mushroom soup.

Jeck and I were hoping we could get a few drinks after Lian hits the sack.  But, alas no…Lian outdid her daddy in the sleeping game!  Daddy’s already sound asleep by midnight while Lian’s still watching DVD up to almost 1AM!

Buffet breakfast was served in Olives restaurant.  Namit!

Before heading home, we can’t resist going to the beach and taking another dip in their infinity pool.

On the way home, we passed by Agoo and stopped to marvel at the old church.

It may have been just 2 days but the trip was super fun.  Wish we could have stayed longer in the Santorini-like resort.

Looking forward to another trip like this…maybe in August? šŸ™‚

P.S. Noticed that the pics are bigger in this post and my previous?  I’m just experimenting with the size and I’m liking them.  What do you think?

P.P.S. Thank you Manila Bulletin for our family’s huling summer hirit! šŸ™‚
