T’was a Little Night of Music

Last Saturday, 25 June 2011, I had the privilege of scoring 2 orchestra row D tickets for the Andrew Lloyd Webber 2011 Concert Tour.  It was a night of great, pure genius kind of music.  “No Matter What” never sounded that good!  Ganon kagaling! 🙂

The Programme

The Pass

The concert promptly started at 8PM on a mildly cold Saturday evening.  It’s a good thing the rain stopped because if not, wala lang…tuloy pa rin kami!  I went with my middle sis who is so passionate with only 3 things – fashion, jewelry and theater!  🙂  It was a wonderful evening especially since I know she had a great time, I saw her head bobbing with the beat and her lips moving.  Don’t deny Ate!

There were 6 regulars – Blake Bowden, Andrew Conaghan, Trisha Crowe, Kirsten Hobbs, Shaun Rennie, Alinta Chidzey and 2 guest performers – Delia Hannah,Michael Cormick.

My senses were all fired up on Act 1 pa lang when they did a series of my all time fave Andrew Lloyd “Evita” songs.  Although there were a few sabits on the “Don’t Cry for me Argentina”, it’s still makapanindig-balahibo.  But the ultimate moment was when at Act 2 they did “The Phantom of the Opera” songs.  Grabe, it really brought the house down!

But what’s super nice about the whole thing aside from the music, is that there is a growing interest in musical theater amongst Pinoys, and we know how to dress na 🙂  Very few people came in jeans.  Talk about class! hehehe

Can’t wait for the next “musicale” concert! 🙂
