I can sooo live in Hong Kong! It is at the top of my livable cities in the world. It’s one of those places that I don’t get tired of going to, it’s like there’s always something new to offer every visit.
This most recent trip came out pretty memorable for a couple of reasons –
- First time to arrive by ship as mode of transportation. This gave me a different perspective of Hong Kong as the view is from the waters to the land. It was always a view from the city looking to the waters. Since we docked near the Star Ferry, we passed a lot of buildings going in, including the hotel where we stayed last year.
- We went to Stanley again! After my 1st trip way back when I was a child, this is the 2nd time I went there, and I was super surprised to see that it’s no longer the market-type place I remember from before. The stalls were clean, neatly-arranged and the place leads to a street of fancy restaurants and mall.
- No Disneyland 🙁 Yes, because it was my shortest stay in this city. We only had about 8 hours so we kept mostly to the downtown area. Took the Star Ferry then headed to Stanley, then The Peak with a final stop at TST to watch the Symphony of Lights (for the nth time).
Albeit short, the trip was still one for the books. And even if we only went back to the places we’ve already been to lots of times in the past, new memories I shall treasure forever, were created.
I won’t do much writing, and will let the photos do the talking instead.
