I am happy that the company I worked for believe in education and saving the environment. I am happier that I get to represent Cebu Pacific in this advocacy.
I think I’ve shared here in the blog about our partnership with WWF-Philippines where we support programs to mitigate climate change and get climate adaptation programs going in the communities of Sablayan, Mindoro and Cagayancillo, Palawan under Bright Skies. In fact, we’ve been their environmental partner since 2008 and we will continue to be in the coming years.
Recently, Cebu Pacific adopted a Philippine Eagle named “Mindanao”, the eagle ambassador for education.
This 13-year old eagle has been under the care of the Philippine Eagle Foundation through a captive breeding program. Starting October 2015 until 2020, Cebu Pacific will provide for food and necessary veterinary care for Mindanao.
I am privileged to have been part of the symbolic turn-over ceremony.
After the program, we even had the chance to see Mindanao up close. He is magnificent!
Here are some photos from that day –
We were also able to do a quick tour of the center and here are some photos of the area –
Check out details on PEF’s site on how you can help in the conservation of the Philippine Eagles.
