In one of the 2 long weekends past, my lil girl and I caught the movie Inside Out. It’s a Disney Pixar movie so I know it’s good and I’ll probably cry in a scene. I was right!
What’s the movie about?
According to Wikipedia…
Inside Out is a 2015 American 3D computer-animated comedy-drama adventure film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. Directed and co-written by Pete Docter, the film is set in the mind of a young girl, Riley Andersen (Kaitlyn Dias), where five personified emotions—Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), and Disgust (Mindy Kaling)—try to lead her through life as she moves with her parents (Diane Lane and Kyle MacLachlan) to a new city. The film was co-directed and co-written by Ronnie del Carmen and produced by Jonas Rivera, with music composed byMichael Giacchino.
What makes this my 2nd favorite (after Big Hero 6) is that there’s no villain. It’s a story happening in a person’s head, so it’s all about you and your different emotions. There’s no bad guy but just days that sometimes make you react badly in a particular situation. It also shows that sometimes what you remember as a particularly sad situation would later turn out to be one of your happiest moments.
The scene that got me was when Bing Bong (Riley’s imaginary friend) had to jump off and fade away to propel Joy to return to HQ. I just find it really sad (something similar to what Baymax did) when a friend has to sacrifice for another friend. Sigh.
Anyway, what gets me excited now is the book! I learned that Inside Out came out with a book and I can’t wait to have my hands on it.
