Noni’s Mountain Resort is a “bukambibig” of my aunt, sisters and other family friends for quite some time already. Primarily because the resort owner is a family friend (a former student of both my mom and my aunt), and the engineer who constructed the swimming pool area is also the same engineer who did our ancestral house, but more so because when my family sans us went there for a day visit, they liked it!
So over the weekend, while metro folks descended to Boracay, we hied off to Alitagtag, Batangas and see for ourselves what the fuss about this resort’s all about.
What welcomed us when we got there after 3.5 hours of being on the road (including stopovers and some road constructions) was this view –
Immediately the wearies of driving and having 2 kids under 7 inside the car were gone.
Then we were led to our room while our lunch was being prepared by their friendly and accommodating staff. It just dawned on me that I was not able to take a single photo of our room, so let me just share with you photo below I grabbed from their site.
We’re not in Batangas if there’s no Bulalo – Lunchtime!
We spent most of our time outdoors – either in their swimming pool area
view deck
playground
or just busy looking at these breathtaking views of Mt. Maculot, Taal volcano/ Taal Lake and Tagaytay.
But what really made this trip an adventure for the family was the trek down to Taal Lake, which I will share in the next post.
For now, let me give a special shout out to the staff – Ms. Grace, Ms. Charry for patiently answering my queries, Kuya Bong for graciously accommodating our requests and Joel for pushing us to climb up and down a mountain to see one of God’s beauties.
