A week before CNY, I had a chance to visit HKG again for work. I was a panel member in an inflight retail conference and together with Jem, a friend from the office, we attended and met with possible suppliers.
However, I won’t bore you much on the serious side of my trip. Let me share with you the “sidelights” then.
After the conference, we headed to Central and trooped to Mak’s Noodle House to try their popular beef wonton noodles.
Of course, a HKG trip won’t be complete without some retail therapy. We headed to IFC mall to do a bit of shopping. While there we noticed that there’s a new ferris wheel (similar to that in Singapore) near the harbour.
After taking in the sights and night lights, we had our tummies filled with Peking Duck and Lemon Chicken at Peking Garden.
Since it’s really a business trip, we didn’t get to do touristy stuff anymore. We saw the other side of HKG which is far from the cosmopolitan vibe.
We also got the chance to stay at hotels near the airport – Regal Airport Hotel and Sky City Marriott.
1. Regal Airport Hotel – just a 2-minute walk from the terminal via a covered walkway. This is where most flight crew stays for layover. Thus, the business-like atmosphere.
2. Sky City Marriott – adjacent to Asiaworld Expo which is 1 station away from the terminal via Airport Express. It’s an elegant business hotel so it’s no wonder that most of the delegates attending an event at the nearby venue opt to stay here.
