I can still vividly recall the first time I set foot on the island of Boracay in the late 90’s. There was no central jetty port at that time yet so all visitors get on and off at the beachfront. There were only nipa hut terminals in all stations. Something similar to this –

Now, there’s a terminal at the tip of the island which cuts the boat ride to about 10 minutes. No more boats in the beachfront. Boats for island-hopping though are still accessible in the beachfront but meters away from the shore…so you can really swim now without fear of losing a limb π

There had also been other changes in the island. It’s as if every time I go for a visit, there’s something new to discover and experience. There are new restaurants, bars, hotels etc…

But one thing remains constant – the vibe of the island. The beat that excites, rejuvenates and energizes people is always there. Not sure if it’s because of the beautiful sunset that never fails to amaze me.
