One Team

The Products and Guest Services team had our Strategic Planning and Teambuilding last Friday to Saturday at Maria Paz Royale Garden Resort in San Pablo, Laguna.

The resort was perfect for the group as its open spaces became our playground, its swimming pool the venue of nightcap and its open function hall turned to a classroom.

Here are some shots from that memorable and productive weekend –

Before leaving the office

Lunch was at Rose and Grace in Sto. Tomas, Batangas where we enjoyed unhealthy and cholesterol-ful Nilagang Bulalo, Pork Sisig etc.  Since we got there past 2 in the afternoon, it’s expected that we were all starving.

Then off to the resort for intense, serious sessions

The Mission

The night was still young so we headed to Suki Japanese Restaurant/ Bar where a yummy dinner was prepared for us by Maila.  This bubbly, friendly lady owns this cozy place with her hubby.  Since we had Batangas fare at lunch, dinner was everything Japanese – Shrimp tempura, Chicken with garlic etc.

We took a quick night tour of San Pablo City and dropped by Sampaloc Lake.  Of course, a trip there won’t be complete without a picture with the lake’s popular fish statue šŸ™‚

Can you see the fish?

After seeing San Pablo at night, we headed back to the resort for some swimming and more drinking.

Back to serious sessions the next day, but couldn’t resist having fun while doing the activities.  It was made more fun with a visit by a python courtesy of Kuya Ton.

The planning was successful as it concluded with a commitment to do better individually and as a team.

The nice thing about going out of the office to do some team activities is the chance to get to know teammates in a close-to-natural setting.  Seeing them at work may be totally different from who they are as a person.  Some may be too serious at work but gets funny and wacky off-work.  Some people may be shy in the office but would get over shyness out of it.  That’s why I treasure moments such as this when you can simply let loose (responsibly).

That weekend made me realized how blessed I am to be surrounded by a thinking, responsible and knows-how-to-have-clean-fun team.  It’s always nice to know that people are happy working with you despite the many challenges you face each day.  The team was really one happy bunch!

And to reward everyone’s hard work, we had a wellness afternoon.  Everyone’s treated to a foot spa or body massage.  I must say…everyone looks relaxed after šŸ™‚

Please allow me to gush over this group as that weekend gave me an opportunity to get to know them more…and I liked what I discovered.  Their job’s one of the stressful there is in our company (talk about handling complaints day in/ day out), but they made it look so easy.  Why?  Because all of them have sunny disposition.  I like their attitude that everything can be (re)solved.  Who says only the Ginebra basketball team has the never say die attitude?  This team has it too by leaps and bounds.

Thank you guys for sharing your time and life (work and personal) with me.  I learned a lot from that short getaway.  I sincerely hope that each one of you will continue to be good examples of what excellent customer service should be.

I’m proud of all of you!
